While it was difficult to pull myself away from the forest and beach of Lake Huron the girls and I did have a couple entertaining side trips while camping. We spent one afternoon playing at the Ocqueoc river and falls, the only falls in the Lower Peninsula (yes, the LP of Michigan is flat). They also enjoyed visiting Alpena on one of the cooler afternoons where they rode go-karts, bumper boats and played putt-putt golf.

Hey! this is great. We didn’t get to see the
girls but at least get photos. Sounds like a
wonderful week. We need to do family camp again soon!
I WANNA GO TO THE RIVER TOO! I’ve been having river lust and these pictures just made it worse. Judi and I are roadtripping it up to Oregon to see Helen and Bob in a couple of weeks. All those rivers we’ll pass on the way…
Finally a picture of Steve and what a great one at that. The river looks fun and they didn’t even have Grandpa there to tip them over in their tubes. I bet Grandpa is missing the Guadalupe river in TX after looking at these pictures.
Not fair that my son and granddaugters get to go tubing without me while I had to slave away in a hot, humid classroom. Yes, Lucy, if I had been there, Jillmo would really need a towel! And Shelly, did you have to switch gears in that bumper car? Grandpa
You guys are having the summer I wish I was having! Mike commented yesterday how pale I was looking from sitting indoors all day (every day). Enjoy it while it lasts!
