Just in case there is still anyone out there that checks this sadly neglected website, we’re packing to hit the road. We were supposed to leave Tuesday for California but the dog fence wasn’t finished being built. Then we were going to leave today but we wanted a day to enjoy having a dog yard (okay… and maybe we were dragging our feet a bit because it is hard to leave our oh-so-cute little house.) So, we decided to leave on Thursday. Now Ginger is sick. She’s at the vet getting tests done and we’re still not packed. Maybe we’ll leave Friday… At any rate, the plan is still to get to Seacliff Beach by Wednesday because we’re back on camp host duty as of Thursday.
If you read this, let me know… maybe it will inspire regular posts from the road!
After x-rays, blood work and I-won’t-say-how-many-dollars, we know that Ginger is sick from eating cat litter. Yuck. She’s eating again after being given an anti-nausea injection and antacid. The ear infection we didn’t know she had has been treated and we’ve had in depth discussions about her heart and her arthritis with her new vet (who we like a lot.) I’m sure he’s happy to see us too… we’re good for business.
Back to packing…

Yes, I’m planning to take some before we drive away. Right now, with cleaning and packing, we’re in too much disarray. Soon though, very soon…

Tobys owner just spent 250.00 for xrays, 120.00 on pain pills on tuesday and another 100.00 for the doctor to tell me he is old and has some Arthritis.
Did you know that Ed retired? May 11 was his last day.

Well, you got to use your dog yard a couple days now. Dogs
won’t like being confined again. They are pretty good travelers really. Seems Ginger did that once before and didn’t get sick. Correct? I remember Buddy doing it and
Michele and Shaun having to keep it so he couldn’t do it.

I don’t want to jinx it but yes, we’re still on for leaving Friday morning. Hopefully EARLY! Ginger has eaten cat litter before but it was made from corn. We actually changed litter hoping to discourage that behavior, thinking a traditional mineral litter wouldn’t be appetizing. Guess that plan backfired! She’s doing better this am… eating and acting quite normal. I think she’ll be okay to travel tomorrow and thankfully, this issue will go away for awhile as the cat box in the trailer is up high out of her reach.
