This is Grayson on his ledge outside the trailer cat door while we were still at home. Tonight, on his first night as a camping cat, he isn’t quite as relaxed. He went in and out immediately upon arrival, just to be sure he could, but so far much prefers being inside to being out. I think he feels safe in Twyla and that is just hunky-dory with me. We’ll see if he feels more like exploring after a few days in camp. Stay tuned …
Where are you camping?
New Brighton State Beach … about a half hour from home! We’ve never vacationed locally before but it makes for a perfect “shake down” trip and it’s pretty fun too. This morning Grayson is quite his usual self. He just came back from an adventure in the blackberry thicket that surrounds our campsite. Currently, he is curled up on a chair … the one I was going to sit in, of course … looking perfectly content.
Sounds fun! The weather here has been perfect and would be great for a campfire!
I think it is so cool that your cats don’t wander off in new places. Jack and Caleb would be gone if we took them camping and let them outside.
Awwww…Only you and Steve would have a trailer with a cat door!

That would be “cat” singular, not “cats” plural. I don’t think Penny would approve of this lifestyle at all. But since she has adapted to her new life at Westi’s house quite nicely (much to Jasmine’s dismay), we are giving it a whirl with Grayson. I think he’s going to do well. Though I admit, he didn’t think much of his ride in a bike trailer this afternoon! He’s sleeping off the stress of it in the trailer now. So far he comes when we call if he is outside … I can’t ask for better than that!
How long are you camping! Dad commented that we
had not talked to you. Maybe Grayson isn’t as
attached to the place as you thought – maybe it
is you and Steve he likes! Have a good time!
