Isn’t that a song title? No, you say? Perhaps it wouldn’t make a very good one but it was the refrain in our household Sunday morning. We are out of practice. The sad thing is that though the work is all about having less stress and more fun down the road, we were forgetting how to enjoy where we are. Don’t worry. We figured it out. The beach called. In particular, Carmel City Beach called. Carmel allows dogs off leash and it was heavenly to let dogs romp without looking over our shoulders for rangers. The day was foggily perfect for beach walking and we walked it from end-to-end, greeting nice dogs and nice people the entire way. Ginger would have happily gone home with any number of dog-loving families who invited her onto their blankets but, selfish dog-parents that we are, we made her stay with us. Heading towards home, we found sunshine at Manresa State Beach where we popped the top and had a hotdog, watermelon, chips and guacamole feast-of-a-dinner as pods of dolphins frolicked and the sun set over the Monterey Bay. Ahhh yes … life IS good.

I was about to call to see how you two are but I do not need to do it now – after this I know!
Glad you had such a great time. We have also had
good week with Rian’s and Michele and Shaun. love
Now I know that it is unrealistic, maybe even self-deceiving, to always want to hear good news about, and from, your children. I am worldly enough to know that not all news is good news. But, I confess, it was nice to read that you enjoyed the day with your animals on the beach. And, except for that guacamole “stuff”, the picnic sounded appetizing as well. Hope you take time to enjoy a few more of those wonderful times. Love, Dad
After looking at this photo again I am wondering. Is Noche protective like this photo appears! Too bad you have to go so far to have dog free beach – do they like car rides? Hope to see Jill and Steve today for dinner. Then they are off to Benton Harbor and we will go on Sat and collect them and go hear Shelly’s concert and collect her. Steve isn’t driving yet. love ya
Yes, sweet Noche can be protective of his girls. And, as it turns out, of his people too. He’s pert-near killed the rooster twice now, when Emilio attacked Steve while Noche was nearby. We got to see a whole new side of him!
Laura! Oh my – time to catch up. What a precious contrast – what a delightful post. Awwww . . .sweet pups.
Please! If you’re coming near Toledo – let me know. Keith is off for 3 weeks and part of that time we’ll be in Colorado.
How I’d love to meet you!
Hey big brother – just in case you look at this sometime – Happy Birthday!
Michele, I left Steve birthday messages but didn’t put anything on gigglefern. Maybe I should have but I don’t think he even looks at it. His birthday got you to look though! 🙂
Cathy, ’tis always so nice to have you visit. I’ve been lurking (as usual) on looking up but haven’t had anything worth hearing to say. Cross you fingers that we sell quickly so our new adventure can begin. I don’t know when it will be but we’ll seek you out someday. I want to meet you too!
Steve got your call – he told me he missed it. He
missed Michele’s also but Shel told her all about
camp. She had great 12 days! They are off to sushi with Russ’ family tonight so we have not
celebrated his birthday although we saw him sat.
night and Sunday. Too many other things! I think
he looks but doesn’t write! love ya
Laura – Hope all is well. I miss seeing your pictorial musings on your life. Take care.
Cathy… we are hanging in there. Being “on the market” is stressful and my energy has been focused on working full-time again. It is rather sad that gigglefern has only one post this month though… I better do something about that! Thanks for prompting me. It is nice to be missed!
Laura
