Even after signing a giant stack of papers and fretting and working for the last month to be ready, it was still a shock to come home yesterday to a “for sale” sign at the top of our driveway with pictures of … get this … OUR home on it. Yikes … here we go!

quickly. love you guys
My fingers are crossed that you sell ASAP!
What is the first building in the photo gallery. (not the chicken house)
The japanese dye shed?
Ok. I guess I am realizing how long it has been since I have been to your house because what is a japanese dye shed?
And “Yeah” about Dottie!
Well, the Dye Shed was here years before we were so you’ve seen it. Dorothy was an internationally-known expert on natural Indigo dyeing. She learned the technique living in Japan and when they moved here, Gene built her a traditional Okinawan Dye Shed to work out of. We have used it for storage, canning (in that first short-lived spurt of “back-to-the-land” domesticity) and most often, tie dyeing.
hhmmmmm, I guess I never really noticed it or went in it!
