Our goofball cat is home! Here he is, lounging on the recliner and batting at the camera, seemingly pleased to be here and ready to settle in and relax (me too!)

And now the story … or at least what we know of it. The phone rang for the fourth time, just as we were leaving for work this morning. Annoyed, we almost didn’t answer. That will teach us! It was the call we have been waiting for ever since learning of Grayson’s disappearance 12 days ago. It seems he didn’t travel far as he has been lurking around the deck and cat door of a house, across the creek and a few doors down from Mike and Westi, for the last couple of days. Last night, the owner came home to find him sprawled in the middle of her living room floor, apparently having picked his new home, much as he chose us three years ago. I raced to get him, blowing off work and the plans I had for the day. Now we are at home regrouping. Breathe, Laura, breathe …

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great picture too! Something had to go right since it has been a bummer lately! Now the big question – is Grayson staying at home or returning to Westi’s?
He doesn’t look any worse for wear! He is a
choosy cat and will have his own way. I guess
we should have know that already. Glad he is
back. We just heard your message after Michele
called because I had not posted. Dad’s been
having car checked most of afternoon and I
wasn’t down stairs after a church meeting.
You should email Jill because she is at lake
all week. love you all
Grayson seems fine … a little skinny under all that fluff … but fine. He has been VERY affectionate and attentive, staying very close by and seeming quite happy to be home. Right now he is sleeping like only a cat can sleep. I think maybe he didn’t get his normal 17 hours of a day during the last week.
We will definitely not take him back to Westi’s. Though she is wonderfully responsible and loving to her animals, Grayson has made his opinions clear about what he thinks of living with Guinness and Bella. He is home to stay, at least as long as home is here. We’re all in the trailer at the moment and he seems to like trailer life just fine (though his notions about that might change when the trailer starts to move!)
Westi is SOOO relieved and happy with Laura’s plans to keep Grayson where he is happy. Penny Sue and Jasmine more than fill the cat quotient around these parts. Happy Day!
And Laura is SOOO grateful that Penny loves Westi and that Westi will give Penny a good home. Thank you, Woo!
Well it seems that everyone has made their opinion
quite clear and are very happy. That makes me
happy also! I just wish that ‘these parts’ were
not so far away! Hopefully, things will continue
to improve every day. love you all

If losing cats means pictures as cute as that, lose them more often! Just joking, I’m glad Grayson has re-thought his sudden departure. I hope Grayson enjoys living with you now, Aunt Laura!
Thanks, Jill … he is cute, isn’t he?!
