The best laid plans

… sometimes require perseverance and fortitude. This post was originally titled “Happy New Year” because Steve and I are declaring today our personal New Year for 2006. The traditional one was pretty much a lost cause with rain, illness and a series of other trials, one hot on the heels of another. It was getting us down.

So yesterday we celebrated a New Year’s Eve of sorts and awoke this morning committed to making some changes in life. Starting with a walk before Steve left for work. The sky was dry as we drank coffee and showered. Light rain began as we dressed to go out. The heavens opened as we walked out the door. My gortex boots (always dry before) filled with water. We walked anyway and came home soggy but smug. To overflowing gutters and the bedroom roof leaking. Again. Still.

Okay. Breathe deep. Nobody said this will be easy. We will prevail.

It is not the problem, but the way you respond to it that will determine your success. You can do it. I have faith. Sending my love.

Hey, you two. I had not heard this part of the
story even though we talked to you several times.
We are here for you as I am sure you know. We
are proud of what you are doing and will keep
you in our prayers. Just take one day at a time.
I agree with Wes and send love also.
