Could you say “no” to this face?

Ginger Dog

A co-worker sent me this photo, taken last Friday at City Hall of Ginger as a poster dog for the Animal Friends Rescue Project. Now you see why I had (as my neighbor put it) “no self-control” when it came to adopting her. Her little face spoke loud and clear … “I am yours. Take me home.” She may have said it to everyone who walked by but I am the lucky one who listened.

She’s an old girl. Very sweet.

A little bit of adjustment going on here. She did well for several days when I was home part or all of the day. I worked the last two days though and came home to pee-pee on the floor, bathroom trash strewn around and a full bag of doggy treats taken off the kitchen counter and eaten. Bag and all. Apparently she entertains herself when we’re not here. We’re also having trouble keeping her out of the cat food (which she loves but which seems to make her sick). And off the furniture.

Did I mention that she’s sweet?

That photo says it all! Hopefully there was not more reasons why she was at shelter. I am sure you will be able to control her. BUT eating the bag …are you sure! That should make her sick for a long while. Sounds like she gets around pretty well even with short legs unless she had help. Mmmm! I’m suspicious. Never a dull moment at your house. Love ya

Steve had a vision that she ended up in a shelter because her person, a “stout elderly woman living in a double-wide mobile home”, died. It’s as good a theory as any!

She may have short legs but she is quite agile, and there is no doubt in my mind that she was the one who got on the counter. I assume Noche ate his share once the theft happened… the remains of the chewed up bag were on his outside dog bed when we came home. The good news is that she didn’t get sick from their shenanigans. The bad news is I came home from the vet today with 100+ dollars worth of medications for her eye, and the new knowledge that she has mammary tumors. Apparently they are common, and typically benign. The vet recommended that we have them removed and tested in a few months though. Gotta sleep on that one…

Good Luck with the cat food thing. Buddy use to eat Caleb’s food ALL the time. We never broke him of it. The cats just took revenge and ate the dog food. Now that Buddy is gone we thought Caleb would finally have his own food bowl back but Jack seems to think his bowl is for snacking and that Caleb’s is the community dinner bowl. Poor Caleb!

With all the adventures at your house you would feel very at home at my house. Jack is into everything and on everything and knocks everything down. I think he would LOVE Ginger.
