Could you say “no” to this face?

Ginger Dog

A co-worker sent me this photo, taken last Friday at City Hall of Ginger as a poster dog for the Animal Friends Rescue Project. Now you see why I had (as my neighbor put it) “no self-control” when it came to adopting her. Her little face spoke loud and clear … “I am yours. Take me home.” She may have said it to everyone who walked by but I am the lucky one who listened.

The Strike is Over!

Or at least it should officially be over tomorrow, after the Transit Board of Directors takes the vote to formalize the contract ratified by the Union yesterday. Or perhaps I should say it will be over come Thursday when, once again, buses are expected to roll in our town.

I feel relief. Steve says he just feels tired.

Nobody won. Everybody lost. And the wounds will take a very long time to heal.
