And at long last, her Grandma is announcing it on this website. The delay does not mean I’m a bad grandma. Really. It is just so much better holding Grace, feeding Grace, looking at Grace… even changing her diaper… than it is writing about it! Grace came home on Friday, March 6 at 4 pounds, 14 ounces, three weeks after her brother, one day before her mama’s rescheduled baby shower, and two days before her actual due date. The pace picked up in the Haughey household immediately with two infants and sleepless parents at home. To add a little drama, the water went out (it was the electricity when Emmett came home.) Mike and Westi adjusted beautifully, not needing grandparental assistance nearly as much as we would have liked. Thanks to the Park keeping us on an extra few weeks, we got a chance to know Grace a bit. She is definitely “herself”… the new reigning princess of the household (I guess that makes you “Queen”, Westi.)
What Gracie wants, Gracie gets.

Emmett came home yesterday, auspiciously on Friday the thirteenth. Westi sounded on cloud nine last night, wearing her son on her chest in a snuggly as she went about normal every day, household business. This is Mike and Westi’s first chance to be at home as a family with at least one of their babies. I wonder how much sleep they got last night?
