Happy Birthday, Mickey!

My little sister is 35 years old today (at least if I did my calculations right.) Where do the years go? Once upon a time she was my live doll-baby. I prided myself on being the best at getting her to stop crying and yep, I even changed her diapers (I didn’t make that up, did I, mom?) And as she grew from baby to little girl, she got cuter and cuter. (Dad, send me some pictures to add to this post … I don’t have any.) And her name evolved … from Michele to Mickey, then Mickey Mouse to Mickey Moose, which became Moosey Goosey (or something like that) and then Loosey Goosey. And now dad calls her Lucy. But I call her sister and friend. Happy Birthday, girlfriend!

We have a new critter. As yet unnamed. He (or she) lives in the cold plunge next to the hot tub. And sings. Which is appropriate, given that it is a Pacific Chorus Frog. Down in the creek are a zillion more (or so it sounds). In pursuit of this photo, we also disturbed a little brown bat (which might actually be a Little Brown Bat, but I’m not sure) sleeping the day away under the tarp covering, and a lizard living under the filter system. It’s a wild life …
