Happy Birthday, Mickey!

My little sister is 35 years old today (at least if I did my calculations right.) Where do the years go? Once upon a time she was my live doll-baby. I prided myself on being the best at getting her to stop crying and yep, I even changed her diapers (I didn’t make that up, did I, mom?) And as she grew from baby to little girl, she got cuter and cuter. (Dad, send me some pictures to add to this post … I don’t have any.) And her name evolved … from Michele to Mickey, then Mickey Mouse to Mickey Moose, which became Moosey Goosey (or something like that) and then Loosey Goosey. And now dad calls her Lucy. But I call her sister and friend. Happy Birthday, girlfriend!

Update: Dad came through and “got right on it” sending photos. Here are the first two. From baby to bull. More to come …

Thanks big sister! I agree with the sister and friend thing. And yep your calculations are correct – 35! I don’t have trouble with birthdays and usually don’t feel old but this week I was talking to a fellow student in class (who is 20) and when she learned my birthday was this weekend and I said I was going to be 35, she exclaimed, “Oh, my mom is going to be 40 this month”. Then I felt old b/c I realized I was old enough, biologically, to be this “peers” mother. Oh well, I have loved my 30’s so I think 35 will be great too!

The name Dad calls me most now is LuLu!

The sun is out and no snow is on the ground so it has been a great birthday so far!

Lulu? Dad calls you Lucy when he talks about you. Nice writing, Laura! Photos should be
there. We were nice and didn’t send some we
could have! I can’t find some others at moment
unless you want wedding and I have loads of those. Steve said childhood when I talked to him so we sent mostly those photos. Take note,
Michele, I saw this and responded and also to
yesterdays! Dad can’t get slides to work in
scanner. Not sure what that is but he couldn’t
get photos to work either and then discovered
he had to put something back in scanner. When
he has computer problem I wait and he usually
figures out what he has done! You know when he
tells me he has ruined whole computer and an
hour later it is all fixed.

Those pictures work so far. Not sure if I like the “baby to bull” thing. As long as bull is literal and not figurative, I think I am ok! tee hee.

See, always the baby child doesn’t have the same amount of baby photos as the oldest child – or so easily accessible! See Dad – scarred me for life for having to ride backwards in the station wagon on family trips!

The bull is literal, yes. But why doesn’t this bull have horns? And there are more baby pictures of you. The ones dad sent just needed some cleaning up and that takes time. Now I’m having trouble getting the preview image in the next post to display properly. Sigh… it’s a love/hate thing with computers …

I’m looking, I’m looking! Dad must have found
the bull photo in computer because I could not
find one in frame! She was cute baby! That is
a compliment to you to Laura as dad thought her
baby pictures were you. They look the same as
toddlers and then there is some changes in one
of you. You are both still cute though! Aunt
Dude wouldn’t let me moan that my baby is 35
because her babies will all be 40 come June 2.
Jeff is 40 on May 1! As Aunt Dude says, how
did we get this old! At least grandma said she
didn’t feel old until I turned 50! Your effort
and work is appreciated, Laura, I love this.
