This is the real thing. A new, hopefully improved, more readily updated and maintained, gigglefern.com. The old stuff is still all here. Get to it by clicking the “old site” link on the left. Little-by-little, I’ll bring old content into this new format. And my new year’s resolution (as trite as that may be) is to update this site more frequently … with diary notes and photos. Of course, first I have to figure out how to add photos. Hopefully that won’t prove too difficult.
A little orientation… the categories you are used to will be used in this site as well, some mostly as subcategories of the photo section, and some more oriented to the written word. It will be easily searchable by category and by date. And you get to choose the style you want to see it in. Right now there are three styles to pick from (river, woods and sky). This is the fun stuff so I plan to add more. Oh, and it’s interactive. You get to comment on anything I put here. Try it! (Mom and Michele, this means you… I think you might be the only people who actually look at my website!)
Hah! One doesn’t drop a throwaway like “Oh revamping Gigglefern…” without moi and her Miss Marple sense of curiosity having to investigate.
Sail on Riverdaughter! Love it…can’t decide which skin I prefer…the Woods are my soul…but the dogs (river) have my heart.

ummmmm, not sure what I think. Definitely looks professional but I was confused at first. I didn’t understand the style stuff until I read your diary. In the end I like the River or the Woods but probably the River. The professional style seems to make it less “personal” and less “Laura” vs. inviting and unique.
I think you need to “advertise” riverdaughter more. I didn’t realize that was your “business” until I went into it. It neesd to be “showcased” more.
The colors seem very “calm” for your site. The Categories etc…. may “pop out” more if in different colors and the Area Titles highlighted.
I am a picture and color person so maybe as you start to add pictures it will appeal more.
The calendar and search feature seem cool.
Actually – it is easy to critique b/c you are so good at it to begin with. Overall I think all that you do with this is amazing b/c I don’t know how to do any of it but…since you asked you received my feedback above.
What is the Login refer to?
Well, I admit, it isn’t the glowing praise I had hoped for. I’m pretty happy with it! But I acknowledge it isn’t quite there yet. Photos are very important… after all, that’s one of the main reasons to look at gigglefern. Hang in there with me, Michele, while I learn.
As for it being confusing, I’ll work at that. I’m still learning what I can modify and what I can’t. And the “login” link allows me to post to the site, or edit it. Another cool feature, I can do it from any internet access. Couldn’t do that before.
