Panoramas-R-Us

I’m having fun with panoramas. The rest of Part 2 of the Anniversary Trip will continue in the next post. For now, you get two more panoramas from the final leg of our journey.

Solitary camping next to the Kern River was a little more our style than the Death Valley parking lot experience. It was getting on towards evening, and raining, so we almost settled for a depressing campsite on the really ugly Lake Isabella. But we moved on, and not 10 minutes later, found the Keyesville BLM Special Management Area with the Kern River flowing through and primitive camping allowed wherever your 4 wheel drive can take you.

Moments after pulling off the road, the clouds parted to let the sun through and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow. It was meant to be. We were home.

Click on a picture for a larger version. Can you find our truck (it’s teeny) parked above the river on the left side of the second photo? Home sweet home …

Your photos just get better and better. I commented to Wes on last diary entering and when I went to send it it said”Slow down cowboy
you can only send one every 10 seconds. It was
only comment I sent ?????? I do think it is there when I looked! Keep up the good work!
    love you

Hmmm… I don’t know why it would give you that message if you were sending just one but it’s probably a safeguard against “comment spammers” who can indundate your website with spam just like you get with emails. Kind of a cute message, though, don’t you think?

ohhhhhh, I feel the urge to throw things in the van and drive stright there, to hear that kind of quiet, to walk on wet sated Earth and let her sing me songs of renewal, of spring’s return of Persephone from lands below, to cook tomato soup and grilled cheese and forget about hiring decisions…. ahhhhh good fantasy, thanks!

Wow the pictures just get prettier. I love the second one and nope, I can’t find the truck. Your pictures are seamless! Scary to think what I dangerous person can do with photos nowadays. Thank goodness it is you doing it! I too wish I could take off and spend a few days there and taking in all that beauty and quiet. Shaun needs that type of rest – oh if it weren’t tax season!!!!

Thank you. I still see the seams and it drives me crazy. I match Steve in obsessiveness these days! But darn, you reminded me that I need to do our taxes. It’s so much more fun to play with Photoshop …

I think you can plant your lilies outside –

she had somewhere to do it. Hope they are still pretty. love ya
