Welcome and Farewell

Only one of them has a name and they are both unimaginably tiny, but our grandchildren entered the world yesterday afternoon. Westi sounded good last night, post surgery, though she hadn’t yet seen or held her children. Grace Anne weighed 1 and a half pounds…. her brother entered the world at a hefty two and a half pounds. Word from a tired papa Michael is that both babies were pink and noisy (that’s a good thing.) So far, we don’t know much else. Please hold them in your thoughts and we’ll keep you posted as we know more.

– Grandma Laura

Update: Our dear friend, Joanne, just called to let us know that her husband, Pete, left this world last night. As significant as it felt to be with her last summer when he was diagnosed, it seems even more momentous that he and the babies crossed paths, coming and going, last night. Farewell, Pete … you made this world a better place and you will be sorely missed.

Update 2: Below are pictures of the babies… and they both have names!

Little did I know that setting out this morning with a full moon in my face, the sun rising behind me and a very large skunk crossing my path would lead to so much more.
What an amazing conflict of emotions!
    Congratulations to everyone!

He even has hair! He looks good and doesn’t even look that
small in photo. Thanks, Mike, for the photo ( I am assuming you took it). Hope Wes has seen them by now.
    love you all mom/gram/great gram

The “Great” is personality and not age!!!!!!

Congratulations Mom Westi and Dad Michael! Also to Grandma Laura and Grandpa Steve. Woo Whoooooo that they are doing so well when so little.

Welcome into the world Grace and Baby B!

Sorry to hear about your friend Pete. I know people think I am crazy when I say this, but I truly believe that someone leaves the world to make room for new life. I have said that since our Grandpa left to make room for Braden. I have seen it so many times!

I corrected the spelling, Westianne… I guess you spelled it like your name rather than mine! Now we need a picture of her! And an update on ALL of you!

Does Baby Boy have a name yet?

  5. Mom

I like the ‘e’. Michele Lynne says everyone misspells it.
I wish I had put in on Laura’s. It is hard to be here and
to wait. I need to have more patience as what is important
is that Wes and babies get what they need, not me. It is
just such an exciting time but also conerning one for the
whole family. Love all of you

Westianne, I just reread your comment and realized what
you were saying! Good ole pump! They have so improved
them since Laura was born. She wouldn’t eat at first and
nurses didn’t give me one (and I knew nothing) until the
doctor yelled down the hall to get one in there now! It was
there immediately. He had delivered seven of the nine babies in the nursery. Oh were we pampered – stayed seven
days with very normal delivery! love you

Congrats Grandpa Steve and Grandma Laura! I’ll be out helping Westi Dec 26th-Jan 2nd so I think I may get to see you. This is very exciting and wonderful. Congratulations!

    Much love,
    Rianna

Congradulations Steve and Laura on you new grandchrildren. I know what it like to have a one born early, Bob’s grandson was only 3lbs 6 ozs., he’s doing great, walking now and you’d never know he was so tiny. Im sure the twins will do as well. Keep updated on how they are doing. Love you both. Aunt Rody
