“It is the motion that runs the tail of a dog.”
This line from the poem “Hope” by Lisel Mueller jumped out at me. Noche defines the word every time I sit down to pee. Seated sweetly in front of me, eyes bright and expectant, his tail thumps ever-faster as we make eye contact and the possibility that I will pet him grows ever-larger in his mind.
My dogs are a blessing in my life.

Dogs are a blessing! Cats are just as much a blessing. The description that the tail thumps doesn’t work for them but when they walk by with their tail straight in the air just waiting to be petted also gives that glimmer of “hope”. For a cat is less obvious than a dog in seeking love but wants it just the same.
Just a couple of thoughts as I procrastinate finishing my Action Research paper! One week to go – YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obviously the last comment was not anonymous – it was me – Michele!
Oh yes, cats are a blessing too. Just ask them! In our house, they don’t hope to be petted … they demand it. Right after they leap onto you, claws out! They don’t give you much choice. Kind of a problem for me in the high potency poison oak season (now). I woke up itching.
This is new so not sure this is what I do. Did you change something? I certainly hope you are not itching too much. Cats and dogs are a blessing especially if they belong to you, Steve and Michele. We do not want any at our house although we miss them but we like them to visit or visit them. Love you all!
So true, cats do demand it. Though in Jacks case he just takes it and doesn’t wait for it or wait that you follow his demand!
Glad you like ’em Mom because you will be requested for babysitting duty in August and maybe in June if all goes right with Costa Rica!
It feels wonderful to have the Action Research paper done, the student teaching evalatuion final done and the AR presentation done. I was able to relax and feel good for a whole 2 hours until I called and scheduled my job interview – then my stomach tied in knots at the thought of it! May 15. Everyone say prayers and cross fingers that all goes great and I make it to the next round.
That’s my update. Now I am off to study Espanola!
I’m not sure what you were seeing different, mom… you’ll have to tell me. I didn’t change anything recently.
Congratulations, Michele. You’re almost there! Whew!!! Keep me posted about Costa Rica. If that doesn’t pan out, I wonder if there is anything around here you could do. Muchas personas hablas espanol aqui. (Rather obviously, and sadly, not me.)
